Manjinikara Church

Manjinikkara church is one of the famous churches in Pathanamthitta district in Kerala. It is located within 6 km from Pathanamthitta town. It is one of the important and lovable churches among theChristian people. This church is considered as one of the main churches because of the presence of tomb of holy patriarch of Antioch, Mar Ignatius Elias III. He died in 1932 when he visited to this place and his tomb was located in this place.

It is believed that Mar Ignatius Elias III, The Holy Patriarch of Anthiod visited India in the year 1931 and reached Manjinikkara. The holy man went for his residence in the year 1932 on 13 February, which till now remains to be the most attractive and prominent pilgrimage centre. Taxi : There are two type of taxi services are available, regular and call taxis.Taxi service is available from the airport and railway station to reach these placepathanamthitta.
Regular taxis are normally available at designated taxi stands located at places such as railway stations, the airport, boat jetties, major bus stations and in front of important hotels.
Call taxis have charges fixed by their respective companies (although they are normally uniform).

BUS : Pathanamthitta is located strategically near two highways and for this reason, road travel is very easy. Frequent buses are available from Pathanamthitta to all places including Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and other nearby areas.

Train : Rail services are available from the nearby stations of Thiruvalla and Chengannur. These railway stations are twenty six kilometers and thirty kilometers away and trains are available to all major Indian cities. Fares in trains will range around Rs 150 to Rs 1,500.

Air : The nearest airport is Thiruvananthapuram International Airport that has both domestic and international flights. Fares may range from Rs 2,000 to 20,000, depending on the distance covered.
