Q S T and R Block Kayal

Q S T and R Block Kayal is a branch of Kuttanad Taluk in Alappuzha district in Kerala. It is mainly prominent as backwater destination. Here the cultivation of rice is done at four to ten feet below the sea level. Huge area of land is cultivated from backwater and it is fully surrounded by dam. This type of cultivation had been started before 100 years ago. R block is the largest cultivation area which covers an area of about 850 acres of land. It is fully enclosed with greenish paddy fields and coconut palms add more attraction to this place. It is very pleasant experience to travel in backwater, which will be the best memorable moment in your life.

Nearest airport to Q S T and R Block Kayal is Kochi international airport located within 85 km from Alappuzha district. Nearest railway, station to this place is Alappuzha railway station. You can reach this place only through boat from Alappuzha. Best time to visit this place is from the month of august to March.


QST & R block Kayals (Kayal means backwater in Malayalam) is a scenic place located in Kuttanad area. This is a major point on popular houseboat cruise routes in Alappuzha district.
