Nokia Android phone Normandy’s photo leaked

NEW DELHI: The rumoured Nokia Android phone is among the hottest topics in the technology industry right now, with several leaks and rumours emerging every week. The latest leak shows the engineering prototype of the handset for the first time.

The image comes courtesy Twitter user Seamissu and shows the device covered in a jacket case. Only the screen and the hardware key of the model - codenamed Normandy - remain uncovered by the body case, which also has cut-outs for the front camera, mic and earpiece grille.

The prototype in the new photo corresponds with the image in an earlier leak by EVLeaks, which also showed the user interface of the upcoming smartphone. It is said that Nokia is using a heavily customized version of Android 4.4, with no access to Google Play and related services.

Rumoured specifications of Nokia Normandy include a 4-inch display with resolution of 854x480, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 5MP rear camera. Another variant of the smartphone, codenamed RM-980, is also said to be under development.

It is expected that Nokia will unveil the model at Mobile World Congress in February and launch it in March. Nokia Normady is said to be a budget handset and is said to be positioned against the likes of Asha phones and low-end Lumia smartphones.
