John Abraham's Madras Cafe

John Abraham's Madras Cafe is not going to have a smooth journey in the near future, it seems. After the film’s special screening for volunteers of pro-Tamil outfits on Sunday, the viewers vilified it as ‘anti-Tamil’ and threatened its screening.

Henceforth Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) has got another member in their club with Naam Tamizhar Katchi (NTK) who are joining hands to hinder Madras Cafe’s release. Earlier PMK chief Ramadoss wished that the state and central governments should boycott the movie for its anti-Tamil content and other outfits issued agitation alerts. According to actor-turned-politician Seeman-led NTK, LTTE and its leader V. Prabhakaran have been portrayed with negative vibes in the movie.

John Abraham's Madras Cafe disapproved by pro-Tamil outfits as 'anti-Tamil'

John has been trying hard to pacify the groups by clarifying that no special mention has been made of any group or individual in the film, the outfits have never seemed to be buying his words. Hence the producers of the film decided to arrange a special screening for all of them who are against the movie’s content but to no avail. After watching the movie Seeman said, "The aim of the movie is to portray Prabhakaran as a villain. We cannot accept the movie in any form. The heart of the film is anti-Tamil." Film director R. K. Selvamani echoed the same, "Everyone shown as good is a Malayalee and almost all Tamils are characterised as villains.” Sources from down South said that the movie’s plot revolves around Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination and its aftermath.
